I have started looking at the Rambo Board. I've attached an image, my notes are in blue/cyan.
Basically, heating element zero in the upper left supplies no voltage. The little fuse in the lower right supplies now voltage, even though the resistance between the fuse is zero. When I try to power fans, or heat things, the bed heats, but the fan and heating element on zero doesn't work.
One of the fuses, a little white one, was burnt out, but i unfortunately don't know which one since i forgot to test it while in place.
My thought is I rewire the extruder and fan to the next heating block over, since I read that each area is independent. If I do this, do i need to go into the repetiere firmware and and tell it something special, or can i use slic3r to tell it to use extruder #2? My follow up is that i think I burnt it out using the Volcano hot end and some bad Pid. This is a first gen orion, so an older rambo I assume. Am I in danger of just burning it out agin, or are these kinds of things more happenstance situations?
Any other thoughts on what to do next are appreciated. Though I got the Orion to not have to deal with these kinds of things, I think this is a good learning experience, so I'm fine doing more tinkering and more reading if I get pointed in a good direction.
My Orion printer stopped heating up the extruder/heating element. The bed heats fine. The thermistor is giving readings, and I swapped out the fuses for new, tested ones on the advice of some others on this forum. Referencing this post : Orion extruder doesn't heat

Re: Orion extruder doesn't heat
I moved the Heating element wires and the fan wires that were on slot zero to slot 1 and updated the firmware to designate XT0_HEATER_PIN as HEATER_1_PIN using the tips from this post about enabling dual extruders : http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=7532
but it didn't work, so i followed all the steps to enable both extruders and move things over and that didn't work. No power through the fuse or through the wires. the fuse definitely works. So a friend said to check the mosfets because they likely fried. When I figure out how to do that, I'll post my results here.

Have you tested the heating resistors on the hot end?
