So if someone made a filament out of those pellets we could print in metal......after it was fired at 2500 degrees F.
Good thing it's easy to oversize something by 20% in my slicer.
Just make sure to remove the supports before you sinter it.

Looking at the two steps (ignoring the tempering) after the injection or printing, it looks like a lot of big equipment to cover your "just" 
But a pretty cool technique, nonetheless!

At the hobbyist level, making plastic patterns for sand or investment casting is probably a more practical route to metal parts.
At a commercial level, 3D printing of metal end product exists, aka Additive Manufacturing. Both Nasa and SpaceX have been printing operational rocket engine parts.
