Stepped layer alignment issue

Post by gmartini »

Hello Everyone,

First of all I wanted to thank this awesome community, It is definitely my favorite thing of owning a Printer from SeeMeCNC.
I have to say I always try to look for an answer before opening a new topic, but this time I struggled a bit.

I own a Rostock Max V2 since about 5 months, and recently I decided to upgrade the printer with the new I.M. carriages.
Right after installing the new carriages I noticed an issue in layer alignment of all my prints.
I posted a couple of picture for reference here. The issue is more noticeable in the hollow pyramid print.

Also, I still consider myself pretty much a newbie in 3d printing. So if you guys notice any other issue (maybe some wrong settings) in my prints. Don't hesitate to let me know, any suggestions from you guys is gold for me :D

Thank you!

It's kind of pretty how those failed. Prints look amazing, otherwise.

Most of the time that someone has a positional variation between layers, there's a tight spot in the UJoints that doesn't move freely and is snagging at the same place on each layer. Move your arms around to see if there's a tight spot like this, give the joints a drop of oil, and try agian. Also look for things that aren't tight, including your belts and pulleys.
