Newbie with some new issues(Calibration/bed adhesion)

Post by Rubikscuber202 »

Hello community, I just finished building my Rostock Max V2 this week. And everything worked great (apart from me breaking the LCD cover button bit) but i just print a replacement.

So i did a few first prints and was surprise that everything worked right away. The two fan shrouds and a few other things. And everything with only very few artifacts.

Then i tried to calibrate the endstops again aswell as the Horizontal Radius so it is better when i get further out on the Bed but. I tried what feels like a hundred differerent ways to do it:
1. both versions described in the manual
2. using the Z-height feature on the bottom of each tower to change the endstops or the step offset in the EEprom
3. eyeballing
4. paper

And after many hours i achived a decent calibration through all the ways.
But one Problem occurs every time when printing the circular test thing linked in the manual which draws a circel at 3 location on the plate,
in the middle of the bed and at the bottom of all towers the nozzle distance to bed is equal.
But at the bottom of the imaginary towers opposite to the real ones the distance is to high roughly 1- 1,5 mm so the filament doesnt even touch the buildplate.

What could i change could it be the horizontal radius altough the height is consistent on the over points.
Or is there another value i could change.

The other Thing is that the ABS does not want to adhere to the bed anymore( i switched the type of gluestick and i will change back) and i tried other options but it didnt work so that instead of sticking to the bed the material sticks to the hotend it kind of curls up and if it sticks to the bed in one point it just gets peeled of by the bit sticking to the nozzle.
I hope that this curling up will stop when the material adheres to the bed better than the nozzle but i dont know yet cause i get nothing to stick.

So if anyone knows how i can resolve that calibration thing would be great and if someone knows how i can get anything to adhere to the bed again would be great too.

Thanks in advance.

PS. If someone knows a good source to read into the Mathematics of Delta Setups that would be great
