Why both "Eccentric cams" and "spacers" ?

Hi, i'd like to know the reason why there is "eccentric cams" as well as "spacers" in the assembling of the cheapskate bearings (section 16).

It's my first 3d printers and i just spent quite some time around these. I was using the "spacers" in the first assembled carriage, then ran out of them in the second, to see at my amazement that using the "eccentric cams" to support wheel of the Axle Support and it doesn't work (the wheel doesn't connect).

Btw, adding a free plastic sleeve for the bearings in the kit, just in case, might be a great idea! I'm missing one (lost, wasn't there in the first place, i honestly don't know!) right now, but i will check everywhere again tomorrow.

Its late, i might be sleep deprived and i'm bashing my head on wall to figure out why there is spacers and "eccentric cams". I wonder if it gonna work if i use 4 "eccentric cams" by carriage so i'll have the "spacers" needed for the axle support.

I feel a bit stupid right now ..

eccentric spacers are used to keep the bearings tight against the aluminum extrusion. When installed, use a wrench on the flats of the ecam spacers to adjust how tight the bearings are against the extrusion. You'll have four for each cheap skate assembly, the locations are marked on the assembly. other side will use standard spacers.

After you've completed the install, you tighten up the eccentric cams (i used a 12mm wrench) to 'pull' tight the skate. rotate the top cam upwards, and the bottom cam downwards. If you watch you can see the gap close. After you've got a snug (but not too tight) fit, you tighten the nylon nut.

It took me 30+ minutes of sliding each skate up and down getting that right 'fit' with the eccentric cams before I moved on to the next skate. Sometimes adjusting the rear axel support helps - took me some time to get most of the 'wiggle' out of my skates
