So I'm fairly new to printing, having only finished my Rostock v2 build a few weeks ago. I'm having an issue with MatterControl that's a real pain in my side. It insists on re-slicing a model everytime I hit print, even if I have already generated the layers in the Layer view. Meaning I add an STL to the que, arrange it in the 3D view and adjust my slicer settings. Then I hit "generate" in the layer view to slice the model. That finishes, but when I hit print, MC goes through the slicing all over again and I can't figure out why when the model has already been sliced. Many times this creates a delay of several minutes and I have to deal with oozing from the hotend and the extruder priming I do pre-print is all undone.
Any thoughts?

Re: MatterControl re-slicing on print
If you are not opposed to it, you could try exporting the Gcode and printing from the sdcard. This will use the same exact Gcode that mattercontrol would ordinarily be sending your printer, as well as eliminate any printer connection issues if your computer decides for some reason to freeze in the middle of a print.
If at first you don't succeed, you're doing something wrong. Try again, and if it fails again, try once more. Through trial and error, one can be the first to accomplish something great.
