Hi Guys,
I've been working on printing PLA and I am tuning the settings. Right now my retraction speed is 30mm/s with 4500 for accel. I am running Rambo 1.1 and the current is set to 235 (digipot for stepper current) for the extruder. I'm finding anything above 30mm/s and I will get missed steps. The higher you go the more noticeable it is. I can hear the occasion missing steps on the prime phase of the retraction when it is just above 30. Ideally I would like to have 60 to 70mm/s for retraction. I have heard that others are running higher retraction successfully. Perhaps my current is set too high on the extruder.
Any input appreciated.
thanks,
Brendin

Re: Maximum Retraction Speed
Set the current to 255 and be happy.
(But be make sure to cool the driver electronics.)
