Heatsink Fan Need to Always run

Post by Nath5 »

I have a fan blowing on my e3dv6 that is supposed to always be on when the hotend is on. How do I set that functionality in matter control.

Thanks,
Nathan

The default behavior in the RMv2 is for the PEEK fan to operate when the hot end has power and continue operating until the temperature falls below 50C. You could change the firmware to power it all the time, but this should be sufficient. All you need to do is use the Heat1 terminals.

Yeah, Boring is right. Hook that fan up to heat 1 and it will always run when it's hot. The output on the Rambo labeled fan is for a part cooling fan, and that's what you'll turn on and off with your slicer.

I wired mine for my E3D V6 straight to the 12V supply so that it's on whenever the machine is on. I was having issues with the hot end jamming if a print failed and the machine was reset by a friend (heat would creep up past the heat break and melt material higher up in the "cold" zone).
