Simplify3D for rostock max v2

Post by skidoosnopro »

So I am having a difficult time finding the horizontal adjustment in the calibration settings . I have the x y and z position nozzle height good but can't find where I adjust the center height like it says in the rostock calibration instructions. Any help please . :o :o :o :o :o

There is no setting for this in S3D, it's the horizontal radius setting in your onboard EEPROM.

Save yourself a little headache and install Matter Control and follow the manual on these aspects. Use Simplify3D only for slicing - save your G-code on the SD card and run directly off of the SD card without USB plugged in at all.

So will setting the horizontal eprom using lets say matter control . then will simplify3d see this setting and keep my calibration on track ?

So to the other, will matter control work well with the simplify3d slicing ? I had a prusa I3x before I bought the Rostock . I wanted better slicing . I was getting great prints in matter control just wanted the upgrade of simplify3D

Thank you for the response I love my Rostock

Yes, calibration is stored in EEPROM or firmware and used by the firmware no matter what slicer is used to generate the gcode. The gcode (slicer) tells the firmware WHAT do to (go to X1,Y1 and extrude .1mm of filament at 190deg) and the firmware determines HOW to do it (calculates the stepper motor steps to move each axis, manage the temperature of the hot end, etc).

You can see the EEPROM values in the S3D with the M205 command.

Settings the values can also be done in the terminal window although I would follow what JFettig said and use Mattercontrol for calibration.
