Voronai Your STL Files Online

This looks pretty cool. Anybody used it for their own work? My stuff is mostly mechanical and doesn't lend itself to being purdied up.

I have this bookmarked from reddit already. I have printed some voronoi but have not used it for anything I have done yet. I think the style is very organic, very interesting for some things.

Voronoi prints will test the limit of your calibrations! My first experience was mediocre. But I have this thing more dialed in now.

Fusion 360 has an add-on to generate voronoi patterns.

I downloaded it and had a look, it is not as useful as the link you posted as you have to create a rectangle and specify the voronoi pattern parameters and it creates only a rectangle, you cannot do surfaces or 3d shapes. But it is none the less a useful tool for some applications.

I do not get it. To me the Veroni prints look ugly and I would see no reason to print anything that looks like that. To each their own.

I think a little website widget like that is for art and curiosity at the moment, but the future of cellular and voronai patterns is very promising in the world of lightweighting. It's very mathematical and symmetrical at the moment, but I think that products in the future will adopt this sort of organic form in a useful way someday.

Jim, after seeing the bottom part the Veroni now makes sense, less material, less weight. I see now why it would be used but I still fail to see the practical purpose for 3D printing unless the part you are making
requires both weight reduction and material savings. Thanks for enlightening me.

I think that it is more of an artsy fartsy thing for the moment.
For 3d printing it does seem to be useless in my opinion as it will take longer and the part will not be so strong.

But ir ine were to cast it out of aluminium it could become interesting.

I kind if like the organic-alien like look.
