Hucking in Humboldt (on a MTB, that is)

Post by wsmac7 »

Guess I'll finally do this intro thing.
.
Finally stopped all the searching, researching, and waiting... received my Orion printer several months ago and have been printing PLA and t-glase on it ever since.
.
I only use OpenScad at the moment, although I do attempt to do work in Sketchup... then walk away eventually... lol
I basically design my own stuff and print it in PLA. My daughter bought some t-glase to do a coffee mug for her boyfriend, then figured out that wouldn't work, so now I have a nice roll of that!
.
Not into printing nic-nacs(although I did print off some Christmas ornaments)... really love to make functional stuff.
Designed some equipment for lab uses (I work in a medical lab), household items (closet clothes rod wall mounts, dryer door handle replacement, wall switch plate, sliding shower door guides{bottom and side}...), and projects for friends like the e-Longboard parts I'm currently printing and fussing over.
I have a roll of Nylon 618 that I'm looking forward to using... hopefully more for medical type usage.
.
Trying to get the hang of designing custom supports for my builds, understanding which slicer to take on so I can open up my files and diagnose and/or correct anomalies/failures, and try a color-swap mid-print sometime soon.
.
I have some machine shop experience, woodworking experience, musical instrument repair (self-taught and basic), among other trades... I like to tinker, tear-apart, transform, and sometimes successfully create/build!
Looking forward to the future of 3D printing in my life!
So... I guess this is HELLO! ;)
