Hi from Charleston WV

Post by cswiger »

Having loads of fun with the Christmas Present I bought the wife to give me :)
Put it together over 12/26-27 - two full days!! I love kits!!!

Pleased to report that a 10x10x10 unit cube in blender exported as an stl prints a very close 10.04x10.04x10.15 cube on the Rostock Max V2!!
Loving it :D

My only issue so far - this is my first 3d printer - is getting started, with ABS, tend to get nozzle dribble before the print starts and getting the first stick to the gluestick coated glass, getting some globs on the nozzle that can cause issues later, but I'm reading here when I can get the time.

Oh, thanks to SeeMeCNC for the wonderful instruction manual that can take a zero to 3d printing hero in a few days!

Welcome to an amazing bunch of great sharing folks that looks great (Not my color though :D )
I found with the layer fan holder when printing that if i used the controls in MC to pre heat the Hot end to 228c and the bed to 80c then when they get there from the home position for the effector extrude 10mm twice and then hit print and grab off the string from the nozzle when you here the sound of things starting to move

this worked for me so that the line of filament that is put down on the glues ticked glass around the outside of where it will print stuck with no problems.

The manual is truly amazing I agree I also am new here and started printing for real with everything working as it should today

I was set back for a while as I built it with the power supply set for 220 Volts line current and not 115 V as it needs to be where I live

I should have though to check that first thing when it would not get the bed up to temperature but I mentally dismissed it as unlikely that a kit would be shipped to a north american address with the PS set to 220

Hi cswiger and welcome to the forum. You completed your build in approximately 2 days which is great.
You certainly sound like you know what you are doing but if ever you need help just send a message to the appropriate sub-forum
and someone will certainly try their very best to help you with your problem.
GeneB is the forum user who created the wonderful manual and it is the best printer kit manual that I have ever seen.
Send us a picture of your completed printer if you get a chance, we love pictures!
Happy Printing!

Very good for a first print. As you continue to print objects you will learn to make tweaks within the firmware, the EEPROM and the slicer settings.
Happy Printing!
