Yes, I got the full kit with electronics. I am running my own power supplies (12V and 24V for heated bed).

thanks... I think I may need to run my own power supplies as well. I do have a 24V one I could use on the bed.mhackney wrote:Yes, I got the full kit with electronics. I am running my own power supplies (12V and 24V for heated bed).

my video entry
To make up for my less than perfect pyramid, I submit this video entry. Please forgive my novice (and perhaps cheesy) video skills! Also I apologize for it being 6 min long.
It's on you tube here.

Re: my video entry
Actually I thought the video was really well done. I particularly admire your 1st layer adhesion and thickness. Looks flawless.barnett wrote:To make up for my less than perfect pyramid, I submit this video entry. Please forgive my novice (and perhaps cheesy) video skills! I'm also impressed with the suckback and restart on the first layer.
I'm no expert but I think perhaps you following layers may be run just a tad bit too hot maybe. A more experienced printer please chime in here.

Re: Rostock Max Hollow Calibration Pyramid Challenge!
Hey thanks! My temp is set at 232 in kisslicer for the whole thing. I could certainly try to lower it a bit. Would that address the goop on the insides of the towers and maybe at the top? I should have requested a slowdown at the top... like min 10 seconds per layer.
Also, I forgot to turn on my desk fan until the towers were already about half a cm high. You can see they're extra sloppy at the bottom.
This is the seemecnc black abs with diameter set at 1.77mm and extrusion multiplier set at 0.94. Single wall test nails the wall thickness with the multiplier set at 0.93, but at 0.93, the pyramid looked like it was starving a bit. Retraction was 10mm at 52mm speed.

Re: Rostock Max Hollow Calibration Pyramid Challenge!
My hollolw calibration pyramid was also seemecnc abs black.
I just double checked my sizing and mine is 1.69 - 1.71 at it's largest, so perhaps this may explain your "extra" looking extruded filament. With my multipler set to 1.
But I am no longer able to find out what my retraction and retract speed were as that was some time ago.

Re: Rostock Max Hollow Calibration Pyramid Challenge!
Your pyramid is clearly better than mine. My single wall test resulted in thick wall when I had settings closer to yours and my pyramid was pretty stringy.
I might try again next week.

Re: Rostock Max Hollow Calibration Pyramid Challenge!
The pyramid retracts a lot and that can cause starving with long retracts, I find anything over about 5 or 6 mm is basically impossible to compensate for even with additional filament on restart because the amount it needs varies.barnett wrote:Hey thanks! Re: Rostock Max Hollow Calibration Pyramid Challenge!
Is that because of slipping on the big retraction/feeds?The pyramid retracts a lot and that can cause starving with long retracts, I find anything over about 5 or 6 mm is basically impossible to compensate for even with additional filament on restart because the amount it needs varies.

Re: Rostock Max Hollow Calibration Pyramid Challenge!
No I'm not slipping, it's because pressure change isn't instantaneous.barnett wrote:Is that because of slipping on the big retraction/feeds?The pyramid retracts a lot and that can cause starving with long retracts, I find anything over about 5 or 6 mm is basically impossible to compensate for even with additional filament on restart because the amount it needs varies.
If you try compensating with additional filament, you end up with too much filament.

It was so very long ago man I have no idea or way of checking anymore. I am about to do another though, with my new mods for testing and I will make note of them.
