Rostock Max v2 + E3D + PET: Any takers so far?

I never thought PETG would be a good support material until I tried it, it broke away nicer than ABS supports on ABS. Give it a try.

Just got my e3D V6 installed today, and have been waiting on it to continue my efforts to get it to work with eSUN PETg. With the stock hotend, I could not get good layer adhesion and stringing was horrible.

I'm doing a few things that, based on other posters, would seem counter-intuitive. But nonetheless, I am getting some really nice prints. I might have to change my tune when I start getting into 14 and 20 hour prints, but for the time being, here's what I'm using:

extruder: 250
bed: 80
retraction: 9.15 (!)
retraction speed: 110
extrusion multiplier: .985

I use elmers xtreme school glue sticks for lots of filaments. It seems to work well for this eSun PETg.

Overall, very happy. I have a very large print to do soon, and will come back with results.

I really like the stuff except for how it goobers up the nozzle, degrades, then drips onto my parts. It's quite strong otherwise!

I am a novice but that seems like a lot of retraction, can you explain how you came to this setting over the course of your prints?
