Source for wide kapton tape

Post by Penged »

Just thought I would throw this out there. I put a single piece across the middle of my glass to test it out first using the soapy water placement. If you were careful it could be applied in two pieces with a minor seam.

I got a roll of tape from this supplier. It's 330mm wide and covers the entire glass with some to spare.

Interesting, a 200mm strip that's about half the areal price of the 159mm strip I've been getting and a 330mm strip that's about the same as what I paid (though the cast-off percentage would be higher with it).

For those not using a single strip covering the whole bed, my approach has been a wide strip down the center and then 1" strips to fill out the edges. It makes more total seams, but anything with a dimension smaller than the width of the center strip can be printed without a seam under it.
