help repetier not showing temp

Ok so yesterday I almost got the lcd going, but must have had a bad connection somewhere and it decided to select several submenu options by itself, and changed some things in eeprom. the machine would no longer g28 zero when I entered g28 it would travel Down 10mm and lock up. I was using polygonhell's repetier firmware, so i switched back to the marlin shop flash and my machine somewhat started working again, but still had the problems that caused me to move away from marlin in the first place it freezes up during prints.
the eeprom setting that were changed are not the settings that can be accesed in repetier host, I compared those to mhackney's screen shot and there was no significant difference.
so after extensive research I changed my repetier EEPROM_MODE to 2 causing an eeprom rewrite. this seemed to work but now repetier host does not display bed or hot end temp. it knows I have thermistors set up b/c it no longer goes into dry run, but it will not tell me the temperature. Pronterface will show temps just fine. If I go back to marlin firmware it displays the temp fine, but will not heat the hot end.(repetier fw does heat the hot end, just won't display temperature)

here's what I'm thinking has happened,

there is a setting in eeprom that gets imput with the factory marlin firmware, that I wiped out when I used EEPROM_MODE: 2 to reset the eeprom. the marlin f/w does not have this option with this command (I'm sure the option is there, just don't know the command.)

I really like the repetier host UI so I would rather not have to depend on pronerface it has it's own problems.

just checked m105 will give me temp readout in repetier, but continuous monitoring doesn't update temp.

did you try to reinstall a fresh flash of repetier firmware. Instead of trying to fix the messed up one?

now I have, including reflash of eeprom no help

do you know how to force the marlin firmware to reflash the eeprom???
