Solely for your amusement!

Post by mhackney »

As most of you know I designed the world's first 3D printed fly fishing reel. I do a number of fly fishing shows where I bring my printers and do demos of printing. In November I did an event called Arts of the Angler in Danbury, Ct. A video crew from Yankee Fisherman was there and did a video interview of me and the printed fly reels. The segment starts at the 5 minute mark and ends at about the 13 minute mark. You might get a chuckle out of it. The link starts at the start of my interview segment.

The real question is: How you do find enough time to go fishing?

There's always time to fish! When I drive to NY every other week for work, I drive right by some of the best fishing in New England and NY so a quick pull-over for a few hours and I'm good to go.

You'd better have an ice drill with you! :D
Thanks for the video I didn't know you made fishing reels, I thought is was a device for retrieving nuts and bolts, just tie a magnet to the string and cast to retrieve.

Very nice video. I am so glad that I finally understand what a reel really is... It was not in my English vocabulary yet ;-)
I like the way of Michael almost not being able to keep his eyes off the moving machine
And also the name Eclecting Angler, that's really hilarious
