This combo allows you to unscrew/screw the two 7/64th socket head bolts on the extruder.

I could be doing this wrong but I haven't taken my extruder apart for filament changes. I just retract until the filament is completely out. Then I feed the new filament in. Only need to adjust the tension if I see a significant difference in filament diameter. I know others have had issues with the filament kinking between the feed rollers and the bowden fitting but I haven't had a problem yet.
BTW; I do the retract while the head is hot so the filament separates from the nozzle.
