PLA Adhesion Trick

Post by BTP »

So I stumbled onto something the other night just by trial and error. From the very beginning I knew that using the disappearing purple glue stick was the most basic way to get ABS to stick and it works pretty well. I decided to give it a try with PLA, and oh my does it ever stick. Almost too good.

Just thought I'd share. I'm sure this is already known though.

What type of material are you printing on? bare glass? Ive had plenty of luck just using blue painters tape as most people have. How many fans do you have to cool? Ever since i upgraded to the 3 squirrel cage fans on i get nice even cooling with no bed adhesion problems with PLA. Just recently built a cheap but effective enclose and ordered some PLA this morning, excited to see how well it turns out! Just my two cents!

Yeah just bare glass. Blue painters tape works okay, but it can be a PIA trying to get seems lined up. I only have one layer fan. I might have to get two more and see if that makes a difference.
