LCD screen not coming up after successful flash

Is there a good guide somewhere for flashing repetier firmware onto a rostock? I had to make several changes to the Marlin firmware, and I'm not eager to repeat the troubleshooting process.

Even though John said I had a bad display, I received the new on and it does the same thing....

Anyone willing to try my firmware?

John keeps saying that it has to be the problem, I know I went over the instruction 30 times at least!

bill have you tried the repetier firmware, there are reports that marlin isn't working for some.

that's it look for his post on the forum, i used it with my new lcd and it works with no tinkering to the firmware. https://github.com/polygonhell/Repetier-Firmware
I used arduino 1.o3 to upload it.

I got Marlin firmware to work pretty easily, and I used Arduino 1.0.4

The one gotcha you have to watch out is that you are pasting the code in the right spot. Some of the files have multiple defines (Ie: #ifdef MOTHERBOARD = 301), and you have to be sure you are in the right section for your motherboard (RAMBO = 301).

Before I fixed the firmware, I jut got boxes on my LCD.

If you are still having problems, let me know I can create a small how-to.

or just post the working firmware so we wont have to go through all that trouble. I had both firmwares working on my lcd, it was just my lcd was bad.

A zip file with the arduino environment and the firmware would be nice to have.

I attached my Aurdrino 0023 with the pin files changed and my Marlin with my changes per the directions ( warning if you load this on your printer it will have my Z home and pid files)
If someone would care to review them I would love to know what i'm doing wrong. I did get polygonhell to work but I would love to know why this one doesn't work for me...

Hmmm, I tried uploading the Arduino file several times and It doesn't upload, Is there a size restriction or something?

Someone can look at Marlin anyway....

SeeMeCNC tested my LCD and found it to be working. The problem was probably with the cable I made.

They sent me an adapter which I soldered together and hooked it up. That worked fine.

I ran the installer from the SeeMeCNC website and updated the firmware to the oldest Rambo settings.
