Im printing with a 0.25mm Nozzle, a layer height of 0.1mm, extrusion width of 0.38mm and the stock bowden setup (EZStruder).
the prints are good, but im at the absolut "minimum" the EZStruder can handle. Do you think i could go even slower with the extrusion speed with a geared extruder like greg's from thingiverse?

i would like to build the extruder myself. dont have the money to burn on a bondtech right now.
EZStruder -> printable Geared Extruder?

Having a .25 J-Head (not a clone!
) that I'm going to be pressing into service shortly, what speed are you printing at?

I think that it is worth a try do to what you want, especially if you can mount the printed extruder.
Another possibility is to add a stepper motor to the EZstruder, there is a thread about this on the forum somewhere.
You can use this plate to adapt a geared stepper to the EZstruder but realize that you would also need an 8mm gear on the Geared Stepper.
See this link for the plate - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:131310

itm im priting with just 50mm/s, but im in calibration process after rebuilding some parts of my printer.
using 1 nozzle of the kraken right now (e3d-v6)
damn, just clocked this night while printing -.-
Re: EZStruder -> printable Geared Extruder?
50mm/s is WAY too fast for a .25 nozzle.
