Noob bed leveling problem

Post by TheCommonCathode »

So I've had the Rostock Max v2 for a little more than a year now. Most of my print of come out fine. However prints that require the outer parts of the hotplate, the nozzle almost scrapes the bed and no plastic comes out. I've attached pictures to show exactly what I mean. I've tried MatterControl's bed leveling and auto-leveling thing, I've tried adjusting the 0.00 Z height and no luck. Any help is appreciated!

It looks like it's cutting out at an approximately even distance from the center. If this is the case (It's hard to tell with an irregularly shape footprint like that), than it is likely that the H-radius of the printer is off. Tweak the horizontal (rod) radius by .5 until it improves. I believe this is covered the R-max user manual, which you can download from SeemeCNC

http://download.seemecnc.com/rostockmax ... dition.pdf page 32, section 2.4 covers it. You'll want to raise the horizontal radius in steps, as it describes.

Just tried this. Now my hotend is higher in the front and no change everywhere else.

When all else fails, go back to square one, and recalibrate it like when you first built it.
