Rostock Max v2just went dark, can't connect

Post by jtrezzo »

I built a Rostock Max v2 kit a couple months ago. I have had no issues printing about 400 hours worth. Last night a print job finished, then I told it to heat back up to PLA to change filament and everything went dark. The power supply fan is still running, but the LCD does not light up, and I cannot connect to it at all via Octopi. I am not really sure where to start, or what would cause something like this to happen. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!

Most likely the F3 fuse is blown. That's the first thing to check.
As for why it would be blown, that's another question. One of the most common causes is accidental shorting of wires on the hotend.

Pulled both F2 and F3 to check continuity, and yep, F3 is blown. Putting in an order for more now. Thanks for the quick response!
