How to control heat to hotend seperately from Rambo.

Post by Flateric »

I would like to make some use of my 2nd rambo that has failed thermistor inputs.

I am certain I can disable the checks repetier makes allowing it to continue along unaffected. I think it should be possible anyways, experts? Polygonhell?

How can I control the hotend temp independantly from my Rambo? Essentially a seperate and independant subsystem that is incharge of my hotend and even better the heated bed as well?

This must be possible....

use a standalone pid controller and matching sensor for it. ill find a link for one. but these are commonly sold via ebay example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AC-110-240V-Dig ... 20cfb9bd52 i dont know if the thermistors from the rambo kit are compatible, something you would have to test out.

Thanks for the quick response!

My only concern would be if it can output to our ceramic cartridge heater? And if not, does it have a solution small enough for the carraige of a delta?

Not a bad solution though, very nicely packaged and the digital readout would be wonderful for both the heated bed and the hotend.

Price is right too!

We did that from the get-go with the original H-1 printers! Use a Velleman temp controller. They are cheap ($9 each) and quick to assemble. There is lots of info on this forum. You do need to mod a resistor for the hot end to get into the temp range and similarly for the heated bed. This is a lot cheaper than a PID and works just fine for either hot end or heated bed. It can power the cartridge heaters too, no problem there.

Hey....I have one of these already somewhere here.

Can you point me in the direction for the thermistor mod hookup?

Thankyou as always guys, so helpful.

It's documented in my H-1 electronics manual
