Heated bed temp shows that it is going up when it is not

Post by corryw »

I have had my Rostock MAX v2 for several months and recently I started having problems with objects not sticking to the bed. I finally noticed that the bed temp read out said that it was at 65c when I had it set for 55c. I felt the bed and it was defiantly below 55. I turned the printer off and back on, restarted MatterControl and tried again, the bed came up to temperature, ran normally for a few minutes and then the read out started going up and the bed began to drop below 55c again.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Thanks...

If I had to wager a guess, I would say your bed thermistor is having issues.

It appears that as your bed gets up to temperature, your thermistor is reading its temperature values correctly. However, once it is at temp, the thermistor's resistive values seem to go wonky and cause the temp value to rise. This results in your RAMBo turning off heat to your bed, expecting that the bed is hotter than the set temp and needs to cool down to the target temp.

Check the connections on your thermistor, and if they are fine, try swapping it out with a new one.
If at first you don't succeed, you're doing something wrong. Try again, and if it fails again, try once more. Through trial and error, one can be the first to accomplish something great.
