Can't control RostockMax V2 with MatterControl

So, I've been using MatterControl for some time now for the (manual?) calibration process to get good prints. I mean, I am manually typing in calibration points and tweaking the endstop screws to get proper friction with a standard piece of paper.

Just recently I wanted to recalibrate as my Rostock needs this from time to time.

Now, MatterControl stopped connecting to the Rostock on my Mac Airbook. I updated the software to 1.5, still no luck. I tried refreshing and trying different usb "com ports". I hate the way Mac does the usb COM's. It had worked but doesn't now.

Loaded MatterControl onto PC -- it successfully connected to the printer. However doesn't control the printer at all. Temp readouts are zero'd.

Swapped out USB cord, that's not it... what made this suddenly stop working?

Did something go haywire on the RAMBO?

More importantly, how can I calibrate from the LCD?

So the printer generally works ok? Eg. the display is fine, shows normal values for things, etc?

Yes, I could probably print from it no problem, except one area is a somewhat too high from the bed during the first layer.

Still no luck.

Manually adjusted the end stops with manual locations was all I could do. Good luck if you encounter same issue. Not looking forward to changing glass plate or a nozzle.

Have you tried Repetier Host?
