unlevel bed

Post by Twac1 »

so I did my first large print 208mm wide, and I noticed that in the z-y corner of the bed the nozzle was touching, causing my filament to jam a little and about a mm to not print on my first layer. I ran the Gcode for the calibration but it is only a 3 point cal? in matter control there is an option in printer leveling for 7 and 13 point disk, and require leveling to print. if I chose 13 point and require leveling to print will it cal correctly?

I added a #6 washer under each of the hold-down clips so I could snug them down and have an even tension on each to (hopefully) reduce the non-planar forces on the bed.

cross posting is poor form, imo.

How many times have you tried the auto calc? Maybe something went wonky the first time.

I am having the same issue on my bed, the area between the X and Z towers is higher than the other points around the bed. I have confirmed this by breaking out my calipers and checking the bed heights using that and found about a .15mm height difference depending on where along the diameter I measured. Is there a way to add more points to the auto calibration sequence to avoid using the 7 or 13 point system that mattercontrol has build into it? I love the auto cal system but using only 3 points is not giving me a nice level plane.

Just thought it might not just be a v3 thing. And I have calibrated three times. I am pretty sure it's taking it because I have no issues on the xyz, just in between them on the outer 3-4 inches

BTW I have buildtack on my glass and I set it with the mounts for the bed flipped so it looks better. With the buildtack it holds firm

"looks better" doesn't mean "correct". :)

In some cases, yes. In this case, no. :)
