So yesterday I got my new belts from SPI. I installed them and printed out mhackney's infill calibration part to make sure it was still good and found this.
Any idea what I should look at? The only things I did was remove all the belts, so that I could get the gear drive out to make sure they weren't sharp. Then put the belts back on, only one is new.
I know it's not my delta arms because it was printing great before a belt went, and I didn't mess with them.
It's not the blues... What could it be?

Maybe an overly tight or loose belt?

I've got them a little looser than before. I hope that's it, I'll check it when I get home

What did you discover that was causing the problem?Av8r RC wrote:I've got them a little looser than before. I hope that's it, I'll check it when I get home

The jury is still out.
I tried messing with the belt tensions. Went from way loose to way tight. With virtually no difference.
Then I checked the cheapskate assys. My Z one wasn't the best. Spent about an hour messing with it till it felt like the others. Tried it again and it was only marginally better.
At this point I was out of ideas basically, so I started measuring everything. Turned out my towers were a little off, I guess from picking it up and moving it numerous times. So I spend a lot of time redoing my towers.
Tried it again and it was better, but still had some small gaps.
That's where I left it a week ago, and haven't turned I on since. I currently have a lot of other things going on right now, but will hopefully get back to it in a few days. I guess I'm just going to take the arms off and recheck them, even though I know they are as smooth as silk.
Where are these new arms I just read about from seemecnc? I didn't see them on the website.

I just sent an email to Seemecnc support to ask if they are going to put those new arms on the website for sale.
I'll let everyone know what they say.

I agree with your thinking. A lot of people spent a lot of hours sanding those arms and now we find out it wasn't necessary.
They could have had the machined arms from day one. Don't get me wrong, I love my Rostock but kits should not be
sold when the parts don't fit and it's up to the user to make them fit. It's kinda like buying a car and have to adjust the door
hinges for hours on end to get the door to close properly. Not good. That has always been my major complaint but still, I love
my Rostock and will never give it up for the traditional printers. All in all an engineering masterpiece with the one flaw, at least the
future buyers won't have to go through what we did.
