Hi Everyone,
I just finished building my Rostock V3 Max and am having issues running the calibration software. I can use the settings and controls in Matter Control to actuate each stepper motor (except for the extruder motor, no idea what is going on there), fans, heat bed, and hot end (both up to temp). However, when I try to run the V3probing calibration software, the extruder drags itself along the build plate, making a grinding sound as it scraps across the surface. I quickly shut off the printer and then Matter Control provides the following error message:
"Printer Hardware Error: Your printer is reporting a hardware Error. This may prevent your printer from functioning properly. Error Reported: "Error: Printer set into dry run mode until restart!". I checked all the wiring and reloaded the firm ware on the RAMBo. Any advice?

Note that it stopped moving because I hit the power switch.

Got the extruder motor working! So everything appears functional except for the calibration issue shown in the video.

Calibration at temperature introduces interference into the I2C communications wiring, which as it's not a noise tolerant protocol, will fail under these regimes. Calibrate cold. Otherwise, if you were calibrating cold as the instructions say to, I would check that the acceloremeter interrupt is properly wired to the Rambo.MattG112 wrote:Hi Everyone,

Xenocrates, I was calibrating cold. I have checked all the I2C wires and I have the correct connections / continuity. I even installed two ferrite chokes per the video below, but the problem persists. Any other suggestions?

I got it working! While I had continuity across one of the I2C wires, I was sticking my probe too far in the connector that connects to the RAMBo. After pushing the cable farther in for better contact, it worked. Guess the ferrite chokes can't hurt, so leaving them on.
