I did my first print with it and I already love it. I'm thinking of doing a quick change system of sorts so I can swap in SS nozzles in my Kraken, take less time to set up for CF/metal PLAs. Need to buy some of those connectors you recommended to me first though.

I'm making 5+ of these, so if anyone can guess what it is I'll ship one to them for free. Please only guess if you want one.

Volcano heater blocks for your kraken?

With accompanying nozzles, yes indeed! Congrats Ben, when I get done with a few of these heater blocks and a few nozzles I will send you:

1 Volcano heater block
2-4 Volcano nozzles (Not sure how much time I will have to make them yet, so thats why its a range, tell me your top 3 sizes (in a numbered order, from preferred most to least) and I'll put those ones in priority.
Fiberglass sleeving for a thermistor
1 heater cartridge
1 thermistor
2 M3 bolts for keeping the heater cartridge in place
and (if I can find them) the appropriate size of M3 bolt for the thermistor securing.

Pretty much the equivalent of an eruption pack. I'll PM you when I have things ready to send your way.

Of course I don't want to be a burden so if something gets in your way, no worries. I don't think a mere lucky guess really entitles me to such a fine gift as a handcrafted volcano pack!

Yes, it is still April first, but no this is not a joke. Just a poor coincidence. That is one block of aluminum that will be machined into a volcano heater block. Seriously, let me know what nozzle sizes you would prefer the most and I'll get back to you when I get done.

My priority would just go straight from largest to smallest. 1.2, 1.0, .8, .6. I already have .6 and .8 for the regular heater block so even if you just have time for the first two then I'd still have a full set of nozzles in one form or another.

Thanks again, maybe to you it's no big deal to say "it's just one block of aluminum" but I know nothing about machining, I just have my 3d printer because it's a fun hobby and everything else about manufacturing is magic. So I think this is super cool!

I ordered the heater blocks, thermistors, and the tiny M3x3 bolts that E3D uses today. I also got a hobbgoblin drive bolt to use for my new extruder development, the EZFlex 2.0 (probably won't have that corny of a name).

I had some more time to machine yesterday. I can get the first one done today and start on the next one. My instructor is letting me make a bunch of these instead of doing the regular projects, which is awesome.

Its a little goopy (working on temps and speeds still) but its working.

What is the material you are printing with?

ABS

How much retract are you using? That seems like a couple mm.
