I used their new whip to simplify my wiring.

But when I run G29, my hotend goes down the proper distance, but then goes too far and hits the X tower, goes down to the bed, and continues to try to move (grinding the belts) until I turn off the power.
I had the same problem and had to change the Z-MAX in configuration.h from 385 to 350.
Did you also upgrade the frame to the v3 version? I saw people saying this but I didn't try it because I thought it was to account for the bed still being elevated on the V2 frame.

Last week, I had a problem with similar(but not exactly the same) symptoms, but with my X tower.
Mine would not hit the tower before touching the bed, but would crash into, and slide off the bed, then hit the tower.
It turns out that my wiring was correct but the accelerometer did not like my build surface (GeckoTec), but it worked fine on the glass build plate.

So it's worth checking... what build plate are you using?

I need to correct my statement. Mine is also hitting the X tower. I'll have to run it again to see if it hits the X tower first or crashes into the bed first.

I'm using SeeMeCNC's V3 hotbed and the glass that came with the v2.

No, I only did the HE280 upgrade. The rest of my machine is V2 stock, circa January 2016
