I want to know how magnetic arms would affect the thermistor reading.

My friend, mag arms would let me snap off the head and stick a probe on it more easily!

It turns out that it was not the thermistor, it's the board. My LCD reads in the 300s consistently. Crap. Blown fuse?

Glad I have a backup board...ugh.
