I wanted to try out the Trick Laser Arms, so ordered a set and the quality is pretty good, They do not use the screw and nuts/washers combination anymore they have a fixed shaft with nylon lock nut and a brass washer for spacing that comes assembled and ready to drop into place where the solid shaft is on the original Rostock Max V1 (what I have) Also they have it for V2. They also included replacement screws with a slightly bigger head to lock the shafts into place. Overall impressions the Arms are made well, fit is good, I could not feel any slop even without the included rubber tubing bands.

With the MAg Arm Mod I still had a couple of break free's which was a pain at times although they are very smooth. But with the Trick Laser I feel it is just as smooth with no play.

Here is a quick video of them running 30mm.sec at 300%
At the end of the video you can see some gaps where id did not feel in all the way from the infield I should have made a few more layers on the top this would have filled it in.

Did you notice a difference between the stock arms and the Trick Laser arms?

If you mean size they are the same 269mm and as far as stability they are better, I could see movement of the arms when printing before, Mind you I had the original arms not the V2 arms.

So you had the sand me 100 times arms. The Trick Laser arms had to be a major improvement.

Parts for a new Hot End with new screw in thermistor and 0.35 nozzle.

First Print in PLA, I think I like it better than ABS plastic.

Note to self don't use as much hairspray next time (I had to tap it off with a hammer)

That looks really nice for your first PLA. I don't see all the hairs and strings normally associated with PLA.

Yea I was pleasantly surprised also, I used the stock settings in repetier-Host from the Orionpla config file.

My latest print last night I just shot a quick spay of hairspray on the glass, the PLA stuck nice and when the bed cooled down the part practically popped of by itself, the bottom of the part was as smooth as a baby's bottom. not like when using the glue.

I use the Aqua Net Extra Super Hold hairspray and unless the bed cools down you would need a chisel and hammer to get the parts off.

Printing Some PLA

Installed a new hot end With a a 0.35mm nozzle from SeeMeCNC.

There is a significant improvement in sharpness and now the bridging works as you can see from a picture with a thin layer across open space.
On my final layers I need to get the line spacing a little closer. Have to figure that out in CURA.

Used Cura 14.03 to generate G-Code and print with Repetier-Host.

PLA with no strings at all.

Testing what the printer can do, These came out good and work well after a few cycles.
70mm wide

Printed a set of my 4 thumb screws for hold down clamps on the cnc machine.
