Custom anodized E3d heat sinks and heater blocks

I had some machine shop work a few years ago the parts I made were out of 6066-T6 and I used dye from these folks http://www.caswellplating.com/anodizing ... -dyes.html the result was good and I saw the parts last summer the ones exposed to sunlight outside had not faded at all except for a knob in red that had worn off the on the highpoint of the knob from use in adjusting the thing. They are a good company in my experience.

Caswell is a good company overall. But I have found a number of their dyes lacking and rather hard to work with. I also am not such a fan of wet dyes and prefer the powder form for storage myself. I found their blacks to be more of an dark eggplant purple in direct sunlight. They also tend to be rather high priced on their supplies as a whole and on dyes especially. But they do have a large number of good / great products. I still buy a few things from them from time to time but have found other suppliers I like far better and get MUCH better results with day in and day out. Of course I can only speak to their anodizing supplies as I have not used any of their plating products. But I always say which ever supplier treats you right and you are most comfortable with is the one you should buy from. It is always a great feeling to run across your work some time after you send it out in the wild and see it looking so good.
