All Metal Extruder
Re: All Metal Extruder
I love all the ingenuity, but I gotta ask why? The injection-molded ezstruder is one of the best and most reliable extruders around. With a few tiny mods, it's even better. It seems that all these metal designs are actually taking a step backwards from the ezstruder in terms of reliability and cost.

I tend to agree with bot, simple mods like bringing the filament closer to the drive gear for the flexible filaments can all be done to the EZStruder.
Can someone explain what is gained with this metal extruder over the EZStruder?

My reason for the all metal extruder is to stop the flexing-twisting of the bearing, which pushes the filament to one side or the other, causing a sawing action on the filament. since I have done this I have had no plastic filling the hobbed gear. Like I said above adding a little adjustment to the spring makes it more universal.

We will see what the final results will be. If all the changes make for a better extruder than we can all benefit.draw-tech wrote:Hi EaglezsoarEaglezsoar wrote:I tend to agree with bot, simple mods like bringing the filament closer to the drive gear for the flexible filaments can all be done to the EZStruder.
