Steppers showed up yesterday, so they're now attached. Rest(I think) of the parts will be here tomorrow. Almost time to move it out to the barn!

Printed up a pen holder. Really need to put this on a real table. Hard to level on carpet!

Killed it because it stopped touching the paper...

Ahh, no. I have to reprint a couple parts I broke figuring it out. There's no endstops at the moment so there's really no home position. I accidentally hit the home button and it ran the z carriage all the way down. I actually picked up the frame before I could kill the power. That's also partially why it stopped drawing the calendar. The connector between the threaded rod and the z stepper has some awesome looking cracks in it so it was missing steps. It also cracked the z nut holder that attaches the rod to the carriage. That part isn't as bad, you can see where the plastic was stressed, so I'll replace that before I attach some kind of high speed saw dust machine.

Not sure about what material you are using, but I am finding PETG is much tougher than PLA and resists layer separation.

Yea, I've started using petg since I got my e3d. The grey parts are pla, the black part on the z axis is petg, my new parts that are waiting for me to get home are also petg. I still have a bunch of pla on the frame, but I'll replace those as they fail. There's not alot of torque on the frame, so they might be okay as is.

Still don't have a sawdust maker for it yet, but I did build a torsion box table for it!

Looks great, you should have brought it to MRRF!!!

Nice to meet you there and put a face to a name. I'll hit you up if I'm ever out that way.

Cool!

Not sure how well it would work in that environment though.

Crap crap crap CRAP!!!! When I printed my new effector platform with the build in fan ducts, I didn't check the calibration, just did a new z height adjustment. So I printed a new roller carriage yesterday to fix one I broke over tightening a screw  . Turns out everything I've been printing since the new platform is 1.5mm too big. Not really a big deal since I haven't really been printing anything that requires a precision size. So I go to install the new part this morning, and it just rattles around on the rail. :x So now I'm going through 626Pilot's calibration how-to. Looks like my next roller will be MtDew green, cause I'm almost out of black pet-g...

Very nice! What was it cutting? :)

BTW, if it's not on your to-do list already, you should print yourself a dust collector shoe for that thing. :)

The guy who designed the router's logo. As for the dust shoe, it's like you read my mind!!

Looking good barry99705, I am still reading this thread with anticipation.
I am jealous of the size of your barn, it is huge!

I will say, i havent played with my CNC lately (since i put it on a winch). But I do now have a 3.8w laser attachment too... SOOOOOO cool.. it can cut and engrave etc.. this MPCNC is so flexible in what it can do.

I'm so excited to see this post. I am printing out the pieces to build one as I type this. Expect a multitude of questions from me I as soon as I get finished printing. ;)

Ryan is designing new plastic parts as we speak. He has new corner parts now, still working on the z assembly. Current version works just fine, but some folks have had a hard time getting everything square.

Not too bad for a rotozip bit! Really need to get some real end mill bits.

Still haven't got the bit changing part quite right. Was off about a millimeter to the left. The holes are because this was a used piece of wood. Used to be part of a table top I made.

Little bit of sanding and some colored wood stain will help though. Shaneh likes how it looks, she said dragons are supposed to be jaggy.
