I am designing a to scale model of a caterpillar excavator. I'm really curious about some of your joints and what you've been successful with. I can make the joint lines along overhangs and make designs that need no support.
By eliminating support I get smooth surfaces with great cosmetic properties.
I can make multiple colored assemblies.
I can orient the layer lines for strength in places where they would otherwise be in the weak orientation.
