the saw tooth aspect of the concave parts in the SW quadrant of the arcs of the tail and jaw (looked at from the lower left of your carving) to me look as if your tool was too small in diameter the fact that the NE quadrant of the shapes is fine shows how close you are to nailing it
even so its a great image in wood

Nicely done and yeah, it almost looks like you're stepping over a bit too far for your tool on each pass but otherwise it looks pretty good!

Actually I think I've found another culprit. I didn't set an allowance for the roughing bit. So it didn't leave any extra material for the finishing bit. That's why the right sides are better looking than the left. My zero position shifted to the left when I changed bits so it removed material from the right sides of the dragon. Now I just need to reposition the x axis end stop so the vac hose will fit, that's why I screwed up my position this time, and it should work. Pretty soon I'm going to start having to buy wood for this thing! I've almost used up all the cut off scrap under my chop saw!
