I know Jim has a design for a printable upgrade for one here:

If you're in the market for other extruders with even better performance, and don't mind spending a bit, I know the Bondtech QR is very popular, and well regarded here, even if it is rather spendy (You get what you pay for, and what you get is best in breed).
Best of luck with it.

In order to run the Bondtech QR, does the power supply need to be upgraded to 24V or can the stock on still be used?

Stock power supply works fine. In fact, if anything, the Bondtech could run at a lower amperage and total power for the stepper, thanks to the gearing making up for any lost torque. I have mine installed and wired in, but have yet to get a chance to actually calibrate/test/use it, thanks to a recent convention eating all my time.
