The 1st Print - Moai Statue

Post by Khalid Khattak »

The first print after the dimensional calibration of my 2nd home made delta printer (OPTIMUS-4G) which is completely different design then my 1st delta printer (DELTA-1). I am getting harmonic patters (serrations/ridges) on the print surface. Though i am printing each layer with 0.2mm resolution which must be a fine surface. The ridges degraded the quality of the print and it seems that i am printing with 1mm resolution which is not the case. This is due to the vibrations due to high acceleration/deceleration and moment of inertia of the effector plate.I shall soon overcome this by stiffening the printer. I have discussed the problem in the video being uploaded.

The problem has already been resolved. The good thing in DIY is that it is low cost and you can fix anything as you know your printer more than anybody else.
