Are your arm mounts blue? I thought I was the only person on the planet with a set of those... And Gene's got the only red ones.

I've got a whole set of v1 plastics in red I think. I should probably use them on Red Sonja, but I don't want to tear the whole printer down.

Those are the extra wide ones you designed. I only have the top stained and sealed right now, so I'm in the process of building it up/tearing it down.

I've got a few hotends lying around I can put on it, a 3mm E3D or a Pico of the same size, or I could use the 1.75mm Pico. I'm not a big fan of the Picos though, I had decent results in ABS with the 3mm one, but it could have been better. I've been thinking about things, and I think a 3mm E3D would work pretty well. I have 2 V5s both 3mm laying around not doing much of anything and I'm planning to use one of those.

You might think 3mm is unorthodox, but I'm thinking if I do a flying type extruder it should be fine, since the bowden tube bends very little, and overall it shouldn't cause much issue as long as I stick to ABS and Nylon and other materials more flexible than PLA (I have some semi flex and PETG in 3mm as well).

In keeping with the laser cut birch theme, I'm going to try to remix JFettig's printed enclosure into a laser cut one made of layers of 1/8" plywood laminated together. I think it will turn out better than my previous attempts and look quite nice.

I got to staining more this weekend. Now for the slow rebuild process...

Did some wiring cleanup with that PET flex mesh. Looks pretty nice.

It has to be, I have one of the "real" Rambos with the disconnect terminals on the heaters and they are too large to fit the normal way. I found if I flipped it it can fit in the same area without issue.

The unfortunate thing is the fan no longer blows on the back of the stepper drivers :/

I've got the base pretty much finished (minus PSU wiring for the bed rail, need more wire for that) and wiring to the towers.

There is 22 or 24 gauge wire from CAT5e cable running up the towers for endstops, thermistors, steppers, and fans. If I remember correctly its capable of a bit more than an amp so it should be fine for everything being used. I'm going to run 2 runs of 18 gauge up the other tower for hotend power. I'm planning on eventually converting to a cyclops when I get some money to throw at it, but for right now I'm going with the 3mm E3D and a flying extruder.

The breakdown for each tower is:
X: XYZ endstops, Therm 1 and 2
Y: Heater 1 and 2 wires
Z: Ext 1 and 2 wires, part fan and hotend fan wires.

I think this should be enough in the end. I've used this same cable in the same lengths before without issue for my steppers so I'm not worried too much about over current/wires getting heated.

I'm printing Jim's tri fan effector and 626 pilot's V5 E3D mount. I hope to get the last tower wired today and then I'll wrap up the remaining wires in the base with the PET wrap.

I still have to rewire the bed, find a flying extruder mount and print that, and put the top on and wire up everything for the extruder. I should also redo the PEI coating on my bed, there is a large pocket of air inside.

The stuff finished printing last night and I installed some of the hardware in it. I need longer #6 screws to fasten the hotend to the effector so its not mounted yet. I also printed V3 of the airstruder and installed my extruder in it.

AND, stand the printer upright, not attached perpendicular to the wall...

I dunno. It's better than the folks (deltaprintr I think) who have theirs on it's side without attaching it to a wall properly, making it rock. Sheesh. You'd almost think people don't believe in properly duct-taping things in place anymore.

I go for old school... friction tape and balling wire

I've finished up some more of the wiring, added come stuff to hang down to connect to the hotend and some red LEDs in the base. Trying to decide what color I think goes best with what I have.

I absolutely love what you have done, any plans to make a kit or two? (probably just the wood components, laser cut haha)

I would, but I dont have a laser cutter (unfortunately).
