Hi Everyone,
I bought my Orion from Seeme CNC in the middle of last year and have finally got around to creating an account here and logging in! Its a great little machine and I'm particularly happy with the way it all worked straight out of the box
I'm an industrial designer here in South Australia and spend most of my time tinkering on one of the many latest projects I have on the run (currently its a mini drill press for making custom printed circuit boards) which more often than not include the use of the Orion.
Thus far I've only been using PLA but recently just started with ABS and I'm just annoyed I didn't try it earlier!!!
Anyways, that's the sound of the Orion finishing... just thought I'd introduce myself.
Happy printing

Hi from Melbourne....
Rostock Max V2 with heaps of mods, it's all fun... Never tried printing PLA... I am medically retired and it is one of the things that keep the brain working

Hi there Aussie Thumper, and welcome to the Forum.
So you bought yourself an Orion and that is great, one of my first printers was an Orion and I have had it for about 3 years now without any problem from it.
It's also great that you moved to the ABS world! It is a little more fussy than PLA but it has benefits such as not being as brittle and less likely to crack. The biggest problem
that I am sure that you have seen is that ABS tends to curl up from the bed surface. There are threads on the forum about a material that you attach to your glass called PEI that helps the adherence. You can find those threads by typing
the following into the your browsers search bar site:forum.seemecnc.com PEI
Have a great time with your printer and we are here if you have a question or if you can answer one.
Happy Printing!

Hi Crocky and it is good to find someone else who is medically retired on this forum!
You are right about 3D printing helping to keep the brain active and working now all I have to do is find something that
keeps everything else working.......
Happy Printing!
