DURA Touted as an ABS replacement

Me too! When they added the Pasta group of filament I thought you could eat the things
you made from it! DUH!

They have the mechanical properties listed and compared to abs, they look nothing alike. No more similar than abs to pla to petg.

just one of the confusing things.... and even i noticed that it would seem to require an all metal hot end while ABS does not

They kind of shot their credibility when they said ABS has advantages over PLA that include being harder and less prone to warping.

If I wanted something that flexy I'd just use nylon.

I must say, I think DURA is interesting, but honestly, a lot of the things I print want the vapor smoothing acetone can provide for ABS, and I don't know of many filaments that can match it. (I know I might be able to do something similar with CA and PLA, but that, as well as the smooth-on coating is much more expensive). Then again, I have a pile of filaments to play with already (3 five gallon buckets entirely full, and a few spools elsewhere), and it has no really compelling properties. I think I'll wait.
