New Build Troubleshooting

Hi guys,

Two issues crept up. The first is the same mentioned in my build thread. The LCD lights up, turns blue, but never shows any boxes or letters. Firmware uploaded, everything looks great from computer side. But no letters on printer LCD.

The second is that I get the error " Oops! There is no eeprom mapping for your printer's firmware. You may need to wait a minute for your printer to finish initializing." Any ideas. I'm connected. PID autotuning is completing fine. I can drive the effector around.

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like the firmware might be angry. Did you load it yourself?

Yes. Downloaded this morning from GitHub.

Just discovered a bonehead mistake. Arduino IDE was running in background. I can edit EEPROM now.

Had to shut everything down and reboot. VoilĂ .

Thanks for the reply. Still no dice on the darn LCD.

OK - So I disassembled the LCD and there is a small blue circle at the top. The single leg (which has a flat part with a screw hole just under the blue plastic part) does not contact the rest of the assembly (the two legs with the blue plastic thing on it.)

The blue plastic is not parallel with the pcb.

Is this some form of damage? Is there an easy fix?

Thanks

Just FYI. Just got off with SeeMeCNC support and they were great again. There is supposed to be a contrast screw in that hole to adjust the contrast if needed. They're shipping out a new one.
Great service.
