I have run into an issue recently where my Rostock Max v2 keeps disconnecting from my computer while heating up or printing. The machine stays on and MatterControl says its still connected but it stops heating up or printing. Any help is appreciated.

Update: tried using it on a different computer and everything switches off when the print button is pressed in MatterControl.

Solution: A loose wire was causing the power to cut off briefly which resulted in the machine disconnecting from the computer

Another application may be trying to acces the usb serial port or your computer could be going to sleep.

I have the computer that the printer runs on set to never go to sleep so that wouldn't be the issue. The only other application I have open on the computer is Firefox and it was all working fine when I printed something last Thursday but Ill try it with everything closed when I get home today.

Still disconnects even with everything closed.

Save your gcode to a sd card, disconnect the usb, and print directly from the printer. Its the only 100% reliable way to do it.

JFettig has given the best response.
I am of the opinion that a computer used for 3D printing should be dedicated for 3D printing ONLY, no other apps should be running.
If you cannot dedicate the computer to 3D printing then JFettig's response is the best solution. Copy the Gcode to the SD card, disconnect the
USB and print from the SD card. Thank you JFettig for the best answer.
