Hi all,

I have been working on this H1.1 for a few months now and I am having the hardest time finding clear and easy to understand instructions. I have struggled through the physical building of the unit and i think I have it put together correctly. Now I am scratching my head trying to understand how the wire the hotend, as well as how to connect the electronics in general. Clearly this design was meant for people who know what they are doing already, not for someone like myself who is deeply interested in this but not experienced in building machines.

Could someone please spell out using pictures and arrows how to set up the hot end, as well as the wiring scheme for the 4 Axis Stepper Driver Board? I have been searching the web for 3 days trying to make sense of all of this but I can't make heads or tails of it because of all the different mods and options out there. I don't care if I need to mod something later on, but I want to get this cursed machine going. Could someone who is knowledgeable please take a few moments and make something that explains how this is supposed to work? Thanks, I really appreciate it.

Hi Kris,

I dont have an answer for you, but I do have all the same questions you have. Were you able to find a source that explained (in somewhat plain English) how to wire up the electronics? Any advice at this point would be great!

There may be a newer version of this - it is for the older 3 axis card. Bu the overall wiring should be the same, just replace that red easy driver with the 4th port on your 4 axis board. You ABSOLUTELY MUST make the mods the 4 axis board or you will be chasing demons trying to get the thing to work. Read the H-1 and H-1.1 build topics. The extruder and hot ends are the same and the electronics could be the same depending on what the builder was doing.

Start with the stepper wiring and 4 axis board. Get it wired and all motors moving. Then work on the Velleman board and hot end wiring. The drawing should be clear. I'll check and see if there is a 4 axis version of it.
