Accessing eprom without mattercontrol

Is there a way. The linux build of mattercontrol is a problem on my system and I removed it. Is there a way without installing it or booting into windows? Just got my e3d head.

Repetier host works well and is available on linux. All you need is mono for the C# dependencies
