I have the MAX V1 for quite some time and loving it!
Some months ago I made a stupid mistake and run this program called "OpenDACT310A". Now, I don't know what happened but since then my printer is not working well. It just is not longer aliened. I tried to re - calibrate it the usual way but it did not keep linear as it got to higher layers and it would just collide with the printed object and the print would go to waist. My thinking is to re flash the RAMBO Board again with the known Reptiere firmware I used the first time some years back --- but there was a problem -- I no longer had this firmware available . Now I tried to download the firmware as directed on the website BUT This is NOT the firmware I had, the numbers there are all wrong and after I re flashed the board I had worse problems, like when I hit home some the carriages moved up other down and the general head movement was not tracking when I clicked on the movement arrows buttons (it is then I know I was Fu_k up bad - my Rostock never acted this crazy.

What I want is the firmware ver .91 from a year ago. Actualy I would love to have working ver .92 but at this stage of the game I think just to get the printer working as it was before would be great!

Hi there, If you have a V1 then your Y-axis is inverted. That's why it's not moving correctly.
Look for this parameter, under configuration.h

// Inverting axis direction
#define INVERT_X_DIR true
#define INVERT_Y_DIR false
#define INVERT_Z_DIR true

(it looks like this for the v2)
For the v1, change the Y for "true"

Also, what effector do you have? The firmware from the GitHub page has the values for the ball-cup effector.
This are the values for the u-joint style platforms:

#define END_EFFECTOR_HORIZONTAL_OFFSET 33.0
#define CARRIAGE_HORIZONTAL_OFFSET 38.4

I don't remember if there is anything else to change.

Thanks for your complete and detailed reply. I managed to locate a valid copy of my MAX V1 Firmware and - at least for now the movement is consistent. When I ll have more time I will do the calibration process in hope that the previous collision problem will disappear.

I have to admit that your explanation of the diff between the two firmware versions is very helpful. I am thinking upgrading the firmware is something to consider for the future, clearly for now I just want to get it printing again!
In any event, I believe I may have seen awhile back someone, on this forum, who managed to get Repetier Firmware V.92 going for the Rostock MAX V1. That could be an interesting adventure some day...
