Printing out of round all of a sudden
Hey new here with my 1st issue I've had and I'm pretty baffled i make custom RC wheels for monster trucks. My issue is that all of a sudden my Rostock v2 started printing like weird. It's printing this weird step on the inside and out side of the wheel only for this area same spot every time. What I've done so far resliced the part, check my z height and adjusted tightened everything down and checked everything so far any suggestion would really help thank you.

if you rotate the object, does the deformation change locations?
also, are you printing via sd or usb?

It almost looks like a polygon with multiple flat sides. Look at it with a program like NetFabb that will show you the facets to be sure.
Did you design the part, can you crank up the resolution that the program outputs? Most will let you define how many segments a circle is made up of.

Hello, for the blob check the "Blobs and Zits" section here:
https://www.simplify3d.com/support/prin ... s-and-zits
Great guide by the way, even if you don't use S3D.
The other scar seems to be where the print starts and finish the perimeter. Try adjusting your retraction speed and amount.
20mm/s is a safe value. Print a simple cilinder and see how it goes.
But... it could be a lot of things actually
Extruder not calibrated.
Over-extruding.
The motor is skipping steps when doing a retract.
Incorrect filament diameter.
Pressure built up within the nozzle, very normal with bowden setups.
EDIT> added picture

Yes it does does stay in the same location even if I rotate the part, printing with sd card

Re: Printing out of round all of a sudden
So quick update this was an update to wheel so I made the edge a little thicker than the previous ones I made. Also I went back and printed an early version which is the same but not at thick in the same area surprise surprise it didn't happen.

I did design the part my self using solid works 2015Jimustanguitar wrote:It almost looks like a polygon with multiple flat sides. Look at it with a program like NetFabb that will show you the facets to be sure.

Re: Printing out of round all of a sudden
You won't get rid of the delta segmentation moire without going to something like a Duet board but it's not what OP is complaining about.
OP is complaining about the big (~.7mm) step in the periphery of the cylinder. It's so astoundingly consistent I can't help but think it has to be binding in the arms causing an offset only when that point is approached from that particular side.
Is this at the start/stop point for the perimeter extrusion?
If you're on a stock manual mechanical calibration you can move all the motor and endstop connections one position clockwise or counterclockwise (making each tower act like the adjacent one) and see if the defect moves. You can also move some or all of the mechanical parts among the arms.

Mmmm I think I'm not seeing the error you were asking for help.
But well, I'm glad it's printing fine now

You had it right with your diagram. Jim was talking about something else.
Is the outside diameter of the print that works the same as the outside diameter of the one that doesn't?

It was not the one that had the step was slightly thicker, I made a new model also adjusted solid works to a higher image making the circles less square and am re doing print now.

I was looking at this part of the object for my comment.IMBoring25 wrote:You won't get rid of the delta segmentation moire without going to something like a Duet board but it's not what OP is complaining about.

I think Tincho nailed the other part of it with his picture. Looks like overextrusion for those parts.

Re: Printing out of round all of a sudden
So after a couple of changes it was a simple fix instead of 3 perimeters I only did 2 this seems to have cured the issue. By the way doesn't anyone else hate the 1.5 update to matter control they got rid of one of the support material options and it drives me nuts! Glad I still had 1.3 uploaded
