Y Tower Calibration Issue

Post by noventix »

Hi all

After upgrading arms, effector platform, hot-end and carriages I am having some calibration issues. I can get things going well enough to print good with small diameter items - but it goes bad when I move to larger items.

I think the problem is related to the DELTA_RADIUS and related settings, which I admit I don't understand very well. If I reset and start my calibrations steps from scratch (set Z-height, and then run the Tower Calibration macros in MatterControl) the X and Z towers are very close, but the Y tower is well over 5mm too high. I can correct this with the end-stop screw, but this variation seems way too high.

Is there a good article that can explain these settings in detail so I can troubleshoot?

Hey there,

I recently had a similar problem which in the end was due to my belts not being tensioned enough on the Z tower. This caused the belt to slip as the stepper tried to turn. Its a simple thing to try just in case.

This was where I asked for help, there are other suggestions in there you might want to try.
